Promises and Pearls 2010 - Recap

It's almost that time of the year... but let's recap on 2010!
Promises and Pearls was created by Michelle Barrionuevo-Mazzini, owner of MB Wedding Design and Events and yours truly, Beverly Yip in 2007. Our boutique style soiree is a one of a kind event that allows couples to find wedding resources in a low-key, yet swanky environment. Designed to focus on brides and grooms who know what they want and don’t want to endlessly shop around, only one or two vendors per category are invited each year to participate. We pride ourselves in showcasing only the finest event professionals in each category.

Each professional is hand-picked by Michelle and Beverly and participation is by invitation only.

In 2010, Promises and Pearls was held at the Beautiful, Bently Reserve.

Bev Personal: I {love} Cameron House

I don't share my personal life on the web often. Mainly because I try to protect my privacy and my whereabouts. I'm the person who will post my travels after I've visited the country, or "Check In" at a restaurants a few days later. Anyway, I'd love to tell you about a very special place, near and dear to my heart. It's Cameron House.
Cameron House is a Chinatown-based multi-service agency serving Asian communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Motivated by our Christian commitment to promote healthy communities, we have served individuals, immigrant families and youth since 1874.

To me, Cameron House is my 2nd home. A place where I grew up doing my homework after school, a place where I learned American traditions and values, and most importantly, a place where I practiced to serve the Lord, and do good unto others.

Every year, we honor those individuals who have contributed to the Community in one way or the other. This year, at the 10th Annual Soul & Elegance Gala held on February 18, 2012, I will be among 4 others who will be receiving the "Donaldina Cameron House - Excellence in Community Service" award. I am extremely humbled and hope that you'l join me at this amazing fundraiser this year.

Date: February 18, 2012, Saturday evening.
Time: 5:30PM -11PM
Location: South San Francisco Conference Center

Real Wedding: San Francisco AT&T Park Wedding

The Logo Says it All... WORLD CHAMPIONS!

I can't even begin to describe how much I enjoyed myself as a Guest and as a Vendor at this Wedding. I've known the groom, Bryan since 1993, friends from George Washington High School.  Aubrey is my home girl. I known her since 2002, right after I graduated from San Francisco State University.

Together as a couple, they couldn't be more "perfect". Their love for each other, their love for their families and their love for sports, especially our San Francisco Giants!!

To give my side of this personal story on how they met, (not to make this a really Long Story :) Bryan asked me to set him up with my hot friend, waaaaay before their "official matchmaker" entered the picture. One night, Aubrey and I was at a 30th birthday party, I invited Bryan to come out to meet Aubrey. He didn't show up, but months later, they finally met through their "official" matchmaker, which makes me the "1st "Unofficial Matchmaker.
The rest is history. They're expecting their first bundle of joy this June!!
I am so happy for my good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey & Bryan Wong.

Enough about the story, Let's get on with the amazing photos by Shoot me Now Photography!

DIY Friday Baby Breath Bouquet

baby's breath centerpiece
I have only recently discovered the baby’s breath bouquet, and I love what I see!
When it’s come to wedding flowers, baby’s breath might just be the new carnation. Like carnations, baby’s breath is not exactly glamorous. In fact, it has a reputation for being a cheapo filler flower. But en masse – wonderful!
To me, a bouquet of baby’s breath reminds me of gentle snowflakes or delicate lace. Perfect for a wedding!
If you’d like to learn how make a baby’s breath bouquet, check out this tutorial over at Real Simple.
Meantime, feast your eyes on these lovely creations!
